The most important gain I learned from this class is that I did a lot of research on how to apply software and social media in daily life to make project management easier and more efficient. For example, my work team started to use Microsoft Team to communicate with each other, share files, update project, hold virtual meetings, etc. It is super useful for collaboration and management for our projects (mostly IT projects), especially during the Work From Home period. Applying software and social media into work is not a new concept in these years. However, how many employers and employees actually use them is a question. Converting traditional management model into information technology management model is not easy. Accessibility, risk of innovation, affordability, adaptation rate are the barriers in front of each working team. What I can do is to be an advocator and innovator for the progress.

I worked towards testing of products based latest Wi-Fi standards and hence learned new protocols and standards. I developed new testing scripts using python to test a new products. I installed and bring up new testing equipment in the lab supporting the latest standard. In addition to the technical skills, I also learned about Agile methodology, Software Development Life Cycle and Project Management skills. I learned a professional method to document the Goal, Scope, and Budget of a project. I build a great network with highly qualified working professionals and developed great communications skills. The most important experience was to be able to communicate with highly qualified professionals in my organization and learn from their experiences which motivated me to reach new heights in my career. I also got a chance to talk to the founder of the company and realized the importance of being humble. From the technical front, by working on the latest standard I learned new technology which will provide me little advantage in the competitive job market.
