The Good and the Bad Why College Is Perfect For Some: And Not For Others

There are many reasons why some people choose not to attend college. More specifically, for African-Americans, a lot of times, this choice is not up to them. Different things come in to play as to why they do not have the ability to go to college. Some are financial reasons, some are environmental reasons, and some are just familiar obligations. They do not have the access to get into college, they do not have the access of the means to pay for college, or their parents need them to take on the responsibility of basically being another provider in their home. So, they chose to skip college. Later on, in life, a lot of African-Americans will find that this choice or not necessarily their choice will set them back for years to come and they will always be looking for a way to get ahead in their chosen career, not necessarily the career they chose, but the career they fell into without a formal education. Without a college education, they will work one or two jobs and try to go to school and they will always be a step behind their counterpart who went to college as soon as they graduated. This will also put them behind in income over a lifetime.
