GRADUATE ASSISTANT: Maximize your GA’s support in working on your assignments by meeting with him weekly.

PREAMBLE:

A graduate with a Master’s degree is likely to be employed as a manager or promoted to a manager in a shorter time compared to the those with a first degree. Managers are expected to write and present reports and proposals well. Good reports and presentations can only result with enough research, analysis and effective writing and editing. The assignments develop these skills to help you do your future job effectively, if you are willing to invest time and effort to excel in your assignments.

The written report, usually a proposal or research that offers solutions, is the document that your client or supervisor will examine to determine the value of your work. The first round is your presentation. If it was weak, the client will not be interested to read your proposal. If it was good, the next evaluation will be your report to examine the details. Invest time to deliver a report that is original with good grammar and well supported by facts and statistics. The in-text citations imply you conducted research and the references will show the currency and relevance of the research material you used for your assignment. Choose current sources within the last 10 years.

The report is the most important piece of your assignment in the grading process. Use statistics, tables and other illustrations to help you communicate the information effectively.

APA FORMAT

CUE library provides you several sources of APA format for writing an academic assignment and building power point slides with in-text citations and references: https://concordia.ab.ca/library/help/citation-guides/.
