Movie Review

Without saying it, it is a fact that Georges Melies' film "Trip to the Moon" is a film of its kind with regards to intellectual, spiritual, and emotional perspective. In my view, the film played a significant role in promoting human ambitions not just through thoughts but by making what they think to become a reality. Spiritually many people then perceived somethings as unrealistic within the film industry, but the film help in laying the foundation of the science fiction movies that millions of other director and producer work on today (Méliès, 2017). The ambitious spirit of the astronomers in the film is just a motivation not just for the film world but an actual motivation within the contemporary world.

Intellectual, the film displayed the highest level of human intelligence and the power of that intelligence in driving people into achieving what they want “No human is limited” the plane innovation by Wright brothers is highly attributed to the power of human ambition as displayed in the film. Emotionally, looking at the film then, many people would have felt that intrinsic motivation is the most essential factors in achieving what we want, the film was developed at the time when technological innovations were at the pick of gaining momentum of transforming human perceptions towards science.

Comparing the current science-fiction film such as Avengers Endgame, the primary similarity between the two films is they all show the human powers in saving the world that they love and protect, A Trip to the Moon as a film strived to show human power and strength in achieving the impossible, on the Avengers Endgame shows the human power in re-establishing all that was considered lost. Just like the astronomers’ ambition of going extra miles by working together, the Avengers still have the ambitions of winning the war against Thanos despite the powers that Thanos displayed in “Avengers Infinity War”.
