Websites to find policies:

The above website is available at:

http://ana.aristotle.com/SitePages/nursingworkforcedevelopment.aspx

The existing Virginia Laws can be found at https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode note: you will need to use the search function (for example nursing workforce, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist – whatever relates to your topic).

The existing Virginia regulations can be found at https://law.lis.virginia.gov/admincode note: you will also need to use the search function with the same type of keywords as above.

Laws that are being proposed for Virginia can be found at https://lis.virginia.gov/

Regulations that are being proposed or have just been passed in Virginia can be found at http://townhall.virginia.gov/

Existing federal laws and regulations can be found at https://www.usa.gov/laws-and-regs and use the search box at the top. For example for nursing workforce issues search using keywords Public Health Service act Title VIII or use nursing workforce.

For proposed federal laws see: https://www.congress.gov/

For the nursing information on the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) see https://bhw.hrsa.gov/grants/nursing

The policies and regulations for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) can be found at https://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Regulations-and-Guidance.html note however, that I do not recommend using this site unless you are trying to find more information on a specific regulation that was discussed on a website or in an article. This site is very confusing and when using the search function, you will need to be very specific otherwise you will not find the relevant information.
