What players are trying to accomplish
Should identify how players are competing (free-for-all, teams, cooperative, etc…)
Should give a more technical/mechanical overview of the game example: To be the first player to collect 10 points
Setup
This section should instruct players on how to get the game ready to play
Do not include any details about how game bits will be used. That goes in the gameplay section.
Gameplay
Begin breaking the game up into smaller chunks (rounds, turns, phases, etc…) and summarize what players must do in each of those stages.
Then, go into specifics, explaining the order in which the stages occur and exactly what happens in each of these stages.
Game End Conditions
Describe the conditions which bring a game to an end example: Last card is drawn, player’s health drops below 0
Tell players how points are tallied, or how to determine who won
