Dear Mr. Daubmann:

You requested us to design a restaurant to meet your needs of creating a unique setup for

Lawrence Technological University (LTU) campus located in Southfield, MI. You told us that the college of architecture and design (CoAD) has a variety of comprehensive studios which requires the students to invest most of their time at the university. We are aware that you are doing your best to provide the students with the most cooperative and effective lifestyle. You have the ability and to make the campus a better place as well as a great faculty and students who can contribute to do so.

Attached is a proposal to design new restaurants for LTU. Included in the proposal is background information on the situation, a discussion of the problem, along with the solution ,the schedule that will be used to implement the restaurant plan and the benefits of the solution are included in this proposal.

PROPOSAL

To Design a Restaurant in the University with a Unique Features

INTRODUCTION

Background

Lawrence Technological University is a private school, about 107 acres that was established in 1932. According to U.S.News, it is considered the 62 ranking place for the regional universities in the Midwest. The department of architecture and design at LTU holds exhibitions and studio spaces for students with 24 hours access to all studios and equipments. CoAD students spend most of their time working on projects at the university. Therefore, they wanted to have more food options and dining 24 hours available with a unique design which inspires their studies.

Problem

Since the studios need a huge effort from students, the university should be able to provide better dining option so that the students can stay in campus and have the energy to complete their tasks. Restaurants within LTU campus have been criticized for having few food options for students and forcing them to go outside campus grounds to seek for alternatives, which wastes the student’s time. The proposal is to establish a unique arrangement and to consult an outside firm to expand restaurant services within the college. The intention of the proposed expansion is to ensure that there is a variety of food services for CoAD students.

Solution

Mr.Daubmann discussed the matter with the faculties and the students and decided to hire Jackson Architecture and Design to establish a section dining area at the management building in order to provide the students with a variety of food services and take advantage of their time in school rather than going outside to eat.

Benefits

The restaurant will provide students and faculty members with many benefits such as:

· Variety of food options and accessible 24 hours

· Students will use their time wisely

· Students will be more satisfied with the studio lifestyle

· LTU ranking will get higher due to providing students with all their needs
