My name is Ahmed Al Jashmi. I was born in Oman where I grew up until I finished high school. I was always the child with the overwhelming desire to excel in my academics. Luckily I was able to get a scholarship from the Omani government when I scored great grades in high school.

My major is economics. Whereas I have great passion in technology and communication, I chose economics as my major. This is because I believe that financial skills can either make or break a business. By acquiring business management and financial skills I will be able to manage my ICT business successfully without fear. I started reading about economics from the newspaper from a very young age and this must have the point when the curiosity arose.

In order to sharpen my economic skills, I have been fortunate enough to secure internship opportunities from various top organizations. I worked as a financial advisor for Omani Association. While working here I got the chance to interact with various investors who advised me on various issues regarding to finance.

I also interned in one of the top companies in Oman called Abraj. This experience was beyond words. It was extremely surreal and educative. I experienced economics and financial management generally on a first hand basis and this was a good way to build a rapport with intelligent people.

I love technology and technology oriented programs. Therefore, I love to work in a creative environment. Creative atmosphere creates a platform for novelty, a concept that is critical in the technology industry. The industry requires constant updates so as to remain relevant.

There are many reasons that I chose this course in particular. My goal for choosing is to ensure that I meet the bare educational minimum requirements for my future professional goals. Without excelling in this course, I might not get the chance to pursue further avenues on human resource management.

As already stated, I have a speech problem. English was not my first language. I have undertaken an English course to enable me to learn more English for this course in particular. I have also read the research on various issue and I have allowed my daughter to have any problem. I will solve all the problems to the best of my ability.

I did a research paper on the effects of oil in the economy. This was an interesting experience and achievement for me. I was able to effectively identify the key issues and then draft a research paper. Given that most of the English I write and read, I learnt myself, I am so proud of this major academic milestone.

In conclusion, I am able to take up any challenges that will be thrown my way without fear of the unknown. I believe in pooling our rights and resources so as to achieve one person.
