Greeting Professor and classmates. My name is Jane Doe I was born in DC currently reside in the state of Maryland. I am a proud Mom of 2. My daughter is 8 and my son is 7. I have been working in the social service field for 13years. My Internship will be at the Department of Human Services in the Functional Family Therapy Department. Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is an intensive, short-term therapeutic model that offers in-home family counseling to address the referring behaviors such as curfew violations, running away, truancy, and juvenile delinquency from a relational, family-based perspective. The overall goal is to improve family relationships.  The youth age group is 10 to 17 years old, and the duration of the program is 3 to 6 months. As a social work intern, I hope to learn new skills using their therapeutic model and be able to positively contribute to the youth’s behavior, improve family communication and engagement and help to increase family resources.

· Summarize any insights you have—including strengths, areas of improvement, and how you plan to address these areas—from completing the self-assessment on page 8 and 9 of your text.
