The topic of research is self-control in sports on all levels. In sports of all sorts, the skill of self-control (SC) is essential. Team based and individualistic sports require mental and physical SC skills to be performed or played. This is not restricted to athletes, as management on all levels in sport management also require the skill of SC. Athletes have developed self-discipline and SC to perform better in the respective sports. Planning events ahead of time, constructing schedules to practice and harness their skills, and managing emotions in situations where a person’s mood is not at a normal state are examples of how the skill of SC has been sharpened as an athlete. The development of one’s SCS is not limited to mental preparations as it can be an athlete performing a dynamic movement with consistency and balance.
