In 500 words, please respond to the following prompt:

 

So far in the semester (up until Week 5), discuss your feelings about the readings. What did you learn? What was most surprising to you? Which concepts did you find particularly difficult? Which were your favorite readings, and which were your least favorite? How have your views of Islam and/or Russian/Soviet history changed over the last few weeks?

 

This assignment is intended to be fairly informal, so there’s no need to give citations, page numbers, etc. I’m mostly interested in a) evidence that you’ve read and thought about the assignments b) what your reactions to those readings are.
