I need a two paragraph Introduction add on to the 1st paragraph about at-risk youths and afterschool programs. The sources must be within the last 5 years and written in APA style. All work must be cited even if rephrased and put in your own words. Do not start any sentence with this. All references used please list at the bottom of the page. There are two paragraphs after the 1st that is not cited. I didn’t have knowledge first hand, so therefore writing like of that nature will need to be cited.

There is a long-standing connection between poverty, at-risk youth, and crime (Case, 2017; Jaggers, Robison, Rhodes, Guan, & Church, 2016). Whereas the majority of delinquent youth cease offending by their later teenage years, the struggle is greater for youth living in poverty conditions who have fewer resources available by way of youth programs or educational opportunities (Jaggers et al., 2016).

To mitigate these concerns, there is a need to identify essential components of an afterschool program targeting children from low-income, high-risk families that reduce at-risk youth. Children from poverty-stricken regions have fewer opportunities for afterschool programs compared to their middle- and upper-class peers. This deficiency contributes to lower grades, higher high school dropout rates, and increased delinquency and criminal action; whereas, community activities could help children without means do not have positive engagements in their community. This study has social implications, potentially helping children from poor regions engage in constructive afterschool programs, thus reducing occurrences of crime in the community. Equally important, community leaders and others may use these findings to help increase children’s engagement in community activities.
