My name is Rayleighn Player, I am a soon to be sophomore majoring in Child Care and Family Education. I am a current resident of Shreveport, Louisiana where I was born and raised. For my hobbies I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, shopping, watching movies and getting plenty of rest. I chose this program because I have a passion for children and I enjoy seeing them get excited over their little tiny accomplishments and it gives me joy knowing that I played a major role in seeing their excitement. Growing up I had my own challenges when it comes to learning. I was diagnosed with dyslexia and at the time I did not know anything about that, the only thing I knew was that I was always in tutoring sessions and spent a lot of time learning more than I did playing like most of my friends. Today I am happy to know that I never allowed my challenges to define who I am as a person. Today I use my own challenging experiences to help others that I see dealing with the same challenges. I feel that taking these challenges head on early in a child’s life can benefit them in the long run because as young adults or adults they have then learned how to work around their challenges and still be able to maintain their daily accomplishments. In the next five years I plan to have my very own learning academy that caters to children with unique learning disabilities. I look forward to learning more about you all and gaining knowledge and understanding of things that will be helpful in operating my own learning academy from the administration side as well as the learning aspects. Best of luck to everyone on being successful in this course!

Hello everyone my name is Rayleighn Player, but you can call me Ray or Ray-Ray. I am a freshman majoring in Child Care and Family Education. I am a current resident of Shreveport, Louisiana where I was born and raised. For my hobbies I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, shopping, watching movies and getting plenty of rest. From this class I would like to gain knowledge on how to gently handle not only children but families as well in a way that would meet them where they are, regardless of perfections or deficiencies. I look forward to meeting each of you while learning together.

I am an only child and the first (oldest) grandchild to attend college so I feel that I must lead by example. I am a 2024 graduate of Evangel Christian Academy, where I served as student body president, varsity cheer captain and I am now assistant varsity cheer coach. I am also employed as assistant teacher at Evangel Learning Center. Being employed at the learning center is giving me prepared for my career in child care.
