What information should be included in an intimate partner violence prevention plan?
The plan requires a compilation of a major set of strategies with the aim of achieving and sustaining the reduction and possible prevention of intimate partner violence. Several pieces of information which work together in addressing prevention of violence are used. First, a comprehensive data set showing the prevalence of intimate partner violence needs to be provided. The data is generally from the localized area where the intended plan needs to cover. The benefit of the information is to focus on the likelihood of occurrence of intimate partner violence and consequently come up with ideas on how to prevent it (Niolon & et al, 2017).
Second, a rationale statement needs to indicate the reason why a particular factor can lead to the likelihood of occurrence of intimate partner violence. In the same report, a cause also needs to be provided on why a specific approach will work best in mitigating the event of violence. Thirdly, a statement on approaches of prevention of intimate partner violence is included. The proposals are the key highlights of the plan and involve breaking down of the various ways of violence prevention. Finally, a list of potential outcomes when implementing a specific program needs to be included. The list serves as a reference point of what is expected when executing a plan. In this section, an evidence summary can also be included to support the suitability of the plan.
