Interview

Please answer the following questions using the video/audio interview. If there are any additional questions in the interview please add them as well as the interviewee’s answers

1. Can you introduce yourself? (If he does say, ask about his interests, major, school, work)

2. Do you consider yourself a value to society? Are you proud of yourself about your abilities and skills both academically and professionally?

3. Do you believe that society has stigmatized autism (Created a stigma) and that prevents you to progress and potential contribution? Do you feel rejected by others?

4. Can you describe from your point of view the difference between learning environment in Western versus non-western societies?

5. Do you think that schools should focus on teaching social skills? Do you have any suggestion on how that could be implemented? What kind of activities would entice autistic students to participate? (In general students with autism reject the idea of group activities - what is your attitude about working in a group setting) Preferred activities of autistics students are always individual activities. Can we break this cycle? How knowledgeable are you about autism? Have you taken emotional intelligence instruction (Learn about identifying feelings, empathy and self-awareness)?

6. Do you think that instructors in general are not prepared to teach students with autism? Do you think that students should be in a separate class? (At least basic courses such as language and math)

7. Have you attended therapy intervention to develop social and language skills and encouragement of positive behavior? Do you have any suggestion to improve these activities?

8. What is the parental influence in your attitude and perception of others and your learning abilities?

9. Do you think that you are limited in what you can do in your life?
