The type of organization to be discussed is a primary care office. The primary care office is usually managed and performed by a personal physician who gets into collaboration with the other health professionals and ensures that he makes use of the available resources for the purpose of providing the best care to the patients and also does the appropriate referrals (Chism, 2017). The Primary care organization is in a position to provide patient advocacy in the system of health care for mainly ensuring the accomplishment of cost-effective care through the coordination of the health care services that are provided in any given location.

The Roles and Scope of a Family Nurse Practitioner

A family nurse practitioner are usually graduate-educated, they are certified nationally and also state licensed advanced practice nurses who are officially registered. They are involved in giving care to the medically stable patients through their lifespan. The family nurse practitioners just like the primary care physicians are usually involved in providing comprehensive, continuous care through ensuring that a disease is well managed, they provide health education and preventative health services and also ensure that they promote health. They are qualified to provide services like managing chronic conditions among the different patients, offering treatment to minor acute injuries, providing wellness and health care to children and infants, ensuring that they are able to provide episodic care for all the acute illnesses despite the age of the patient. The FNPs must have a registered nurse license, must also be nationally certified and also have a state license that permits him or her to practice as a nurse practitioner. The family nurse practitioner involved in the interview session, the Acute and Episodic Conditions is her area of specialization. She is in charge of dealing with patients managing patients with acute episodic conditions and illnesses across the lifespan. She ensures that she gives treatment and care that is individualized, ensures safety together with privacy.

Questions to be asked to the advanced practice clinician or non-clinician

What to be done if a patient is not able to respond positively to the prescribed medication and goes ahead to request more than the allowed amount

Giving hope to the hopeless is usually my main duty as a family nurse practitioner. In such a case, I always take time to explain to the patient the effects and consequences that will come as a result of taking an overdose, especially of manufactured drugs. If the drugs given do not respond positively to the patient then the best thing is to look for another drug that can serve the same purpose as the one given before. Encouraging the patient to go for the natural option rather than going for drugs (Jennings et al., 2015).

An explanation of a scenario where one went above and beyond to provide exceptional patient care

I decided to start giving the patients that I attend to spiritual nurturing. This is because as a nurse I am a Christian and believe that God has the greatest power to heal the sick and he just uses us as a tool for this service of taking care of the patients. Spiritual nurturing will help them get an understanding that there is someone who can be trusted for healing and that is God.

Whether you prefer to work alone or as part of a nursing team

I do prefer to work as part of the nursing team rather than doing everything on my own. As a family nurse practitioner, my main objective has always been to work as a team with the others. This is because when you are united or working as a group then it means that the energy will be well distributed. When people work as a group then it means that time will be saved and quality work produced (Landsperger et al., 2016).

How to handle a patient who complains due to the wrong medical prescription given

Ensuring that I am able to listen to the patient first of all and after listening to him or her then I can go ahead to empathize and give him advice on what to do. A patient who brings complaints because of the wrong prescription I always attend to them first then the rest will follow. It is important also for me to go ahead and document the case after I am done with it for the purpose of avoiding it being repeated.

Whether you would advance your career to become a doctor

Learning is a continuous process because there is no way it can ever come to a stop. In everything that I have been facing in my area of work, it has always been a challenge and motivation for me to consider becoming a doctor. Being a doctor is a very big privilege that a nurse practitioner can have. When you are a doctor you are in a position to offer advanced services and the amount of work to be done is always reduced. Being a doctor gives one a chance to be able to learn a lot of things and go through a lot of materials that will improve your profession.

The most difficult aspect of being a family nurse practitioner

Being a nurse practitioner is not an easy thing to do as most of the people might think of it but rather a place that needs sacrifice and commitment. Caregiving is the most difficult aspect when one is a family nurse practitioner. This is because there are some of the patients who are very stubborn when providing care for them especially those who cannot do anything on their own. For example, patients who cannot feed themselves or those who cannot go to the toilet on their own sometimes are very stubborn. This is a very difficult and strenuous thing to deal with because you cannot force a patient to do what he or she does not want (Comiskey et al., 2014).

Why the company should hire you

I would really consider the company hiring me to work for them because in my career path I have always loved doing what I do. Motivation has always helped me achieve much. I do my work because according to me it is a special call and it is also my passion. I really love this company and will always want to work for it and get the best out of it.

Description of how failure has helped you become a better professional

Failure has really helped me to be able to learn my weaknesses and where I can work best especially when giving care to my patients. Failure has really helped me to look for better strategies to handle different situations. Failure has made me consider going back to my professional books for the purpose of gaining more knowledge and improving the area that I am weak in (Senders, 2018).

How as a nurse practitioner you contribute to a patient’s experience

I have tried my level best to ensure that the experience of my patients is improved by telling them the way to go when sick and how they need. Especially to ensure they work on improving and making their diet better for the best immune system. Nutrition and diet is the best way to go for a better living.

What you do as a nurse practitioner when a patient requests unnecessary antibiotics

Instead of giving him or her antibiotics, it is important that you refer him or her to the kind of diet to follow. Give him a description of how taking manufactured drugs might not be of any good or help to him or her if he goes ahead to take them unnecessarily. Even if the patient comes insisting to be given a certain medicine, I am always relaxed to give them. Patients do not know what they need and what they do not need to get into their bodies.
