The basic Background information of the interviewee
I interviewed an Asian American who believes that despite being an immigrant to the US, his cultural values and other beliefs have not been compromised entirely.
The Nationality of Howen (the name forced into him by American friends) is China, but he came to American while he was young with the parents immigrating here.
He is a male, aged 34 years, single, and with no history of disability.
Howen’s is a Christian following his parents’ religion and he believes he does not any reason to change it regardless of the environmental backgrounds.
The interviewee also believes that everyone has a right to religion and other cultural beliefs and he respects those values.
-I interviewed an Asian American who believes that despite being an immigrant to the US, his cultural values and other beliefs have not been compromised entirely.
-The Nationality of Howen (the name forced into him by American friends) is China, but he came to American while he was young with the parents immigrating here.
-He insisted, “My name is Howen, I like this name because my friends insisted to name immediately I arrive here with my parents”
-Therefore, I assumed that the parents were not rigid and did not bother Howen from interacting and playing with native American friends upon their immigration.

Summary of lessons learned about the individual
Having interviewed Howen, I learned various lessons about him that I believe to sum to reflect the entire Asians in America.
Firstly, I Learned that Asian Americans respect religion and they believe that everyone has rights to pursue their beliefs.
Secondly, I learned that there is no official language of the US and the immigrants use the languages based on their nationalities. However, the immigrants try to communicate with the native Americans by interacting with them for long.
Also, interviewing Howen taught me that the American style is applicable for all Americans regardless of whether they immigrated to it or they are natives. For example, the clothing style that Howen used reflected those that the native Americans use.
The sports that Howen loves also reflects that immigrants are free to either adopt the native’s values or hold the ones that their respective nationalities hold.
-I Learned that Asian Americans respect religion and they believe that everyone has rights to pursue their beliefs.
-Secondly, I learned that there is no official language of the US and the immigrants use the languages based on their nationalities.
-However, the immigrants try to communicate with the native Americans by interacting with them for long.
-This study also taught me that the American style is applicable for all Americans regardless of whether they immigrated to it or they are natives.

Analysis of the interviewee’s cultural experience at Micro level
Micro-culture is a smaller subset of an overall culture where one resides at a given time (Demerath, 2012).
Howen, the interviewee lives in the North-Eastern parts which is made up of primarily people with diverse cultures.
Each person in this area is born with distinctly different nature based upon their respective parents.
For instance, Howen is an Asian American but he got himself into America while he was young following his parents’ immigration.
Traditionally, ethnic enclaves with various cultural backgrounds act as defense since no group dominates over the other.
-The interviewee lives in the North-Eastern parts which is made up of primarily people with diverse cultures.
-Each person in this area is born with distinctly different nature based upon their respective parents.
-Howen is an Asian American but he got himself into America while he was young following his parents’ immigration.

Analysis of the interviewee’s cultural experience at Mezzo level
Mezzo level involves neighborhoods, institutions, and other small groups around the interviewee’s residence (Clayton et al., 2013).
Howen notes that the neighborhood has not have much impact on his cultural values considering that there are distinct cultures around the region.
However, having studied in Henrico schools in northern Virginia, the interviewee admitted that he has experienced much influences such as language, but the institutions around that region offer free choice for other cultural values such as religions.
Therefore, despite some minimal influence based on the specific institutions that Howen has attended, there is no much impact with the provisions of his parents based on Asian beliefs
-Having studied in Henrico schools in northern Virginia, the interviewee admitted that he has experienced much influences such as language, but the institutions around that region offer free choice for other cultural values such as religions.

Analysis of the interviewee’s cultural experience at Macro level
When considering the cultural experience at macro level, I focused on practices like social work research program for the communities around him, community based education initiatives, policy analysis, organizational development, and leadership (Yamaguchi et al., 2014).
Firstly, Howen believed that the administrational development shaped his ways of life even though there was not much difference between his current residence and his nationality as told by his parents.
Secondly, leadership and policies that the regional administration establishes do not exclude them as non natives and they are bound by them like the native Americans
Also, as social workers in America, the interviewee’s parents adhere to the initiatives that that the country set and are bound by the organizational development like the native social employees.
-Macro level in cultural perspective involves practices like social work research program for the communities around him, community based education initiatives, policy analysis, organizational development, and leadership.

Description of my reaction to this activity
Conducting this interview taught me several socio-cultural issues that American immigrants experience as they reside in the country.
Firstly, I learned that America offers freedom of cultural choices and other values to all Americans regardless of their nationalities.
For instance, the Asian Americans are allowed to continue pursuing their religious provisions not only since the region has distinct nationalities but also because the county gives them freedom of religion among other freedoms.
Also, the macro social level in America influences the immigrants in some ways since that is the context where all people from different cultural backgrounds interact freely.
-I learned that America offers freedom of cultural choices and other values to all Americans regardless of their nationalities.
-For instance, the Asian Americans are allowed to continue pursuing their religious provisions not only since the region has distinct nationalities but also because the county gives them freedom of religion among other freedoms.

Reflection of the reactions and why I believe I may have experienced the thoughts and feelings
The findings from this interview were not only surprising but also insightful in socio-cultural context.
I believe that Howen had a name that he did not disclosed, but an interaction with his friends when he was young forced him to change the name without any interference from his parents.
This disclosure indicates that Asians living in America are flexible to cultural changes as move from a given place to another

Description of what I learned and how I can apply what I learned to the social work profession
People have different cultural provisions and values which may either change or not depending on their respective origins.
I have learned that a country that accommodates cultural values of other nationalities is likely to progress peacefully and develop in all contexts including the socio-economic ones which are key for every country
Also, respecting other people’s cultures and avoiding the limits to their practices is a key determinant of a nation’s success.
Therefore, with lessons learned in this unit, I believe I can advise people from diverse cultures, beliefs, and values on how to live and interact with others to ensure that peaceful and productive cooperation .
-One thing I have learned is that people have different cultural provisions and values which may either change or not depending on their respective origins
-Hence, a country or an individual that accommodates cultural values of other nationalities is likely to progress peacefully and develop in all contexts including the socio-economic ones which are key for every country

Conclusion
The findings from this interview indicates that Asian Americans respect religion and they believe that everyone has rights to pursue their beliefs.
Secondly, despite insignificant impact of micro and mezzo levels in one’s cultural experience, the macro one will always have a huge impact considering that this is the context where people from diverse cultures interact.
For instance, as social workers in America, the interviewee’s parents adhere to the initiatives that that the country set and are bound by the organizational development like the native social employees
Therefore, respecting other people’s cultures and avoiding the limits to their practices is a key determinant of an individual and a nation’s success
