Tell me about yourself? My name is Mobark Aldosari, I am the IT department director at King Saud University. My responsibilities include maintaining the university's system, upgrading the system and providing technical training. What are your strengths? I believe my strength my background information technology as they help me to do my job. Also, I believe being a director of the IT department has helped me to deal with employees and customers. Overall, I think the combination of my background and my managerial experience have helped me to do my job. What are your weaknesses? As an IT director, I believe that my greatest weakness is managing human assets. Especially in the IT projects, sometimes I face problems regarding going over budget or overtime due to employees apathy or negligence. Therefore, I find it rather difficult to effectively manage human resources, especially in the information technology area. Why do you want this job? I like this job because it matches my background. I started information technology and management in my bachelor's and master's degrees. In addition, I like working and information technology because it allows me to think creatively while solving challenging problems. Also, information technology is rapidly changing field which gives me an opportunity to always update my skills and seek new knowledge. Where would you like to be in your career five years from now? 5 years of from now I aspire to be CEO of a leading company in information technology. What's your ideal company? Currently, I'm working in an educational Institution. But I believe my ideal company or Institution is a company that specializes in information technology such as Google and Amazon. What attracted you to this company? The first thing that attracted me to work in King Saud University is the reputation of the University. King Saud University is one of the leading University not all in Saudi Arabia but also in the Middle East. The second thing that attracted me to work in the KSU is technology and innovation that the school adopts in it's campus. What did you like about your job? I like being involved in many projects and being able to contribute in many areas. When were you most satisfied in your job? I feel the most satisfied when I deliver a project on time and with the required specifications. What are the responsibilities of your position? My responsibilities include maintaining the university's system, upgrading the system and providing technical training. What do you know about your company? KSU is an educational institution. Also, KSU is an innovative school as it adopts a lot of smart technologies in its facilities and buildings. Are you willing to relocate? No. I like working in Riyadh. What interests you about this position? I like working in IT because it is an innovative field. Also, In my current position, I have some room to be creative and come up with new ideas. What certifications do you hold? I have a bachelors and masters degree in IT. What automated-build tools or processes have you used? In my job, I use a lot of automated-build tools or processes. for example, we have a certain procedure for backing up our data. What development tools have you used? I use several development tools such as development programs and meetings. What languages have you programmed in? Java, c++, and visual basic. What technical websites do you follow? Techcrunch and Reddit How do you handle multiple deadlines? I always delegate parts of projects to different teammates so I can be able to meet multiple deadlines How do you troubleshoot IT issues? I usually follow a standard procedure. Tell me about the most recent project you worked on. What were your responsibilities? The last project I worked was upgrading the hardware of internal storage. The project involved specifying the requirements, identifying the best products, selecting the ideal products. Tell me about the project you are most proud of, and what your contribution was? In my current job, I am proud of creating a security policy for my institution. I was able to design a policy that ensures a secure use of IT. What is the biggest IT challenge you have faced and how did you handle it? Employees resistance to change is the biggest challenge I have faced in my job. I solved this issue be letting employees be involved in the change rather than being subject to it. Do you have any questions for me?
