Interpersonal Relations Case

I would first recommend that Rajah should comply with the new systems that were put in place by the manager because it was Rajah’s first retail job at a store. It would not be in his position to comment on decisions made by his employer. Moreover, I would rather suggest that Rajah seek on the opinions and views of his fellow workmates so that they may have been able to raise the issue as a team rather than alone. Rajah should definitely not blow the whistle on his employer because it would suggest that he is against the manager’s choices on trying to make more money for the retail store. Being an employee, especially a new one, he would risk losing his job by making such a move. Again, Rajah would be taken as an individual who did not want the company to strive, even though his main intentions were to enhance a more honest system

I personally think that the introduction of the new one-cent-in-change-policy was wrong and highly unethical because the act was definitely stealing from the customers regardless of how little it was. It also fit as a fraud because the manager forced the employees to squander the customers of one penny each from their totals. The manager did not consider asking for the opinions of his employees on the matter but rather assumed that they were well on with his plan. There is the need of ethics training because the manager was way out of his head to try and benefit the store from insincere funds from the customers. It was not honest or right for certain but was an act that had to be stopped due to its unethical means.

Ethics training should be consistently taught annually in all workplaces. The training which is also known as compliance training would equip both employees and employers with the right set of guidelines and rules to follow when running the business. By having proper ethics training, employees as well as employers will learn the virtue of honesty, humility, sincerity and the ability to effectively address values conflict and differences. It would also enhance the ability of workers to stand up as to what is right without the threat of losing their jobs.
