Cybercrime
“The progress in technology and innovations is the key to the development in society and every period in the past is marked by corresponding technological benefits achieved on the basis of scientific and technical research and whose application improves and modernized the production, the transport, the trade and the communications” (Nikoloska, 2017.) “The development of the communication information technology has largely improved the world, on one hand, but has also on the other, laid the grounds for criminal behaviors unknown from before, but damaging citizens, their property, identity, even endangering the security on every social layer” (Nikoloska, 2017.) Computer crime is a growing concern in today’s age and has been a problem in criminology since the 1970’s (Li Calzi, 2017.) Cybercrime is criminal activities in which computers or computer networks are the principal means of committing an offense (Kshetri, 2009.) The most notable features of the cybercrime environment include newness, technology and skill-intensiveness, and a high degree of globalization (Kshetri, 2009.) The types of cybercrime may be loosely grouped into three categories of cybercrimes. Cybercrime is an umbrella term that corresponds to dangerousness. The objective of this paper is to examine the negative impacts of cybercrime regarding economical, psychological, cultural, and interpersonal aspects.
Out of the many negative impacts cybercrime has on society, the danger of it economically can be colossal.
