Dear Profesor,

I write to highlight my engagement with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) company during my attachment to the facility. Indeed, my stay at the company has taught me the practical aspects of Business management and provided me with vast experience of work away from class. The company was a wise choice since it offered opportunities to develop and advance my career in preparation for work in the future.

BCG is surrounded by a friendly and talented management team and an effective choice for career development. They thrive in providing leadership and priority to new entrants in the field of business making a student accomplish his learning objectives.

During my work at the company, I learned expounded on business management skills. I also provided clerical support for my bosses which earned me skills in computer use. I represented the company in many meetings with clients therefore sharpening my negotiation skills because in those meetings I won the company consultancy tenders that broadened the company's customer base.

The internship opportunity was successful and would wish the college finds more opportunities at the facility with other junior students in the succeeding semesters and years. I look forward to assessment from the college for completion of the industrial attachment. Thanks in advance.

Yours sincerely,

Name….

Introduction

My name is KEKE775a ………a student at ……..in the Business and finance department. The business journal Evaluation report is a summary of my internship report. I secured an internship opportunity at Boston Consulting Group; a company that deals with consultancy in matters that are associated with business operations. The report will highlight my engagement with BCG and provide detailed information on my work and responsibilities at the company during my internship. This article is crucial to demonstrate my ability in the field to my college students, lecturers, and department. It is crucial for the awarding of a bachelor's degree in Business and Finance. Included are essential elements that were covered during the attachment which demonstrate my grasp of theory work since most of what was taught is replicated in the report. The lecturer will also find duties and responsibilities that I was assigned while in the field to practice the grasp of class content. My cooperation with collegues and supervisors/bosses while at work is also highlighted.

Executive Summary

BCG is a wonderful company that enabled me to attain negotiation skills, effeftive management expertise, great communication skills, marketing, and make business pitches. During my attachment, I worked in different departments such as clerical, communication, and public relations, finance, and other duties that I was assigned by my supervisors. The company was helpful since they provided proper supervision on work entrusted to me. The company weas also ready to facilitate me financially and psychologically through advice when I had any hinderances towards completion of a task. The friendly management enabled further learning to assist me in career development.

Current status of internship objectives

The internship was successful since I was able to meet the set objectives. My first objective was to master practical expertise required for the profession (Rahman, 2018). I have garnered skills necessary to manage a business. I effectively managed the company’s resources that were assigned to me. Secondly, my objective was to perfect interpersonal skills (Rahman, 2018). BCG send me out several times to negotiate with clients who were interested in consulting the company as an adviser for their business. I won several tenders which the company carries on to this date. Another objective was to build a network of contacts both professionally and businesswise (Rahman, 2018). This was achieved through several engagements I had within the company and business clients who consulted the company. It also sharpened communication skills therefore fully baking me for the job market in future. The internship lasted six months. The three objectives were each covered for two months together with other valid assignments that were deemed impotant to the profession and therefore assigned to me.

Evaluation of the internship

The information presented in this report is accurate based on the field real happenings during the intership. My supervisor at the company will also sign the report to ensure that it is the true reflection of what transpired during the industrial attachment at BCG. An appendix to demonstyrate the same will also be placed towards the end of the report to show accuracy of the information in the report.

Definition of key terms

Supervisor- the assigning manager who oversaw assignments while at the internship.

Transmittal letter- an introduction letter to the commissioning professor to undergo an intership.

The report also presents hidden assumptions from the school and the expected outcome of the internship. Before the internship I assumed that the engagement will clearly present class work. It is an irony that the field attachment presents new challenges never met in class therefore presenting the learner with real work experience. Another assumption is that the internship opportunity will grant me salary. Unfortunately not all of the work engagement do pay. I only received an incentive that could sustain me but not the real salary. Another assumption is that I expected to be given work that was only related to my profession. It is not true to this assumption since I was assigned to other duties that do not relate to my career.

Language used in this report is accurate and clear to the class and professional terms that apply to business managenment and finance. I have been fair in writing this report by only providing the true reflection of what transpired at the field. My personal prejudices and opinions about the internship have not been captured in the report therefore presenting a factual and free of bial report. The report is also arranged in a chronological order and cl;early separated to demonstrate each section and skills garnered during the internship.

Response

The internship was indeed successful but several questions arise from it. I do not agree with the idea of company staff leaving all their jobs to be carried out by interns once they see them. Majority of the staff ceize to carry out their specific tasks for the interns. This can be a dangerous trend since interns may make mistakes that may cost the organization. I was able to meet my objectives therefore fulfilling my desires tio fully becoming a professional in my job. On the other hand, I expected a salary after being instrumental to the company’s activities, however, this taught me not to have high expectations when engaging in an activity that seeks to sharpen my skills and prepare me for the job market. The ultimate merit for the job is that it fully engages the intern to acquire professional skills that are essential for the job. This report is a credible source of information fpor the topic since it is generated from field work experience; therefore, presenting the learner with skills ofn future job experiences.

Conclusion

The internship was able to meet its objectives of preparing me for the job market and providing technical skills that are required before full employment. I seek to strengthen my weaknesses in the area of making critical decisions when under pressure. I was required to make personal nut important decisions without a person to consult when I was alone with clients. My strengths were in communication which made it possible to negotiate and win projects for the company. The ultimate skills acquired are technical and experience which are so crucial for my growth in the profession.
