IFG Case Study

According to this case study, the highest level problems at the IFG are: the IT managers involvement were less, cluster of various systems used, there is too much data scrubbing in place, no standard commercial terminologies or definitions across the organization and local information marts maintained by each team. The IT managers also consider themselves as main agents of radical restructuring business field. They believe their exceptional end on knowledge of commerce permits them to see direct the importance of technology as an enabler and basis of competitive advantage. For these reasons, they long for better voice in exploiting the opportunity. The main stakeholders in this organization are CTO and CIO (Rick Visser and John Ahern), BI head (Mark Szalo) and IT managers (Josh and Tonya). The best stakeholders stands to profit or lose through failure or success of the project, provides funding for the project, invest time and resources in the project and participate in the project.

The BI competencies are technology, people and process. The best remedy to the challenge is smooth migration to cloud computing. This can be done by reducing the cost for firms which outsource software or companies which rely on third party setup. It is better to access hi-tech and different way out for smaller firms. The increase chance for success for more lively and impactful response to shifting technology necessitates new advances. There is need to devote time on the main business with no creating interference of managing the technology fears, applications and internal systems. Yet another answer for the challenge of change will be setting information warehouse in use. This warehouse was constructed by Mark and his team many years ago and was never put into use (McKeen & Smith, 2012).
