Integrated Goals

According to Nickols and Ledgerwood, the Goals Grid has proven to be beneficial to the strategic planning process and can be used as an alternative to a SWOT analysis. The Grid consists of four basic categories Achieve, Preserve, Avoid and Eliminate. This tool is flexible and can be utilized for strategic and long-range planning. It has a visible format that can be easily referred to and follows a logical progression of thought when it comes to goal development and decision making (2006). I am going to discuss the ERRC grid from the previous module, evaluate the two most important goals, create objectives to achieve them and discuss the steps I will take to meet them.

The ERRC Grid

I am including the ERRC grid created in the previous module. The grid was developed to assist in achieving my vision of opening a cozy bakery shop that seeks to offer bakery products to customers such as wedding cakes, graduation cakes, and other bakery products.

Eliminate

Rise

Unproductive staff

Delivery delays

Social Media advertising

Technology integration

Reduce

Create

Labor recruiting and retention costs

Delivery time for customer orders

Competitive Edge

Strong brand Image

The two goals from my ERRC grid I found most important to me achieving my vision are:

1. Increased technology integration

2. Create a strong brand image.

These two goals align with the company’s vision in that it ensures production of high-quality products and services to customers while creating a strong brand image. For this assignment, I will replace the second goal with one that is easier to breakdown into smaller objectives and discuss it while providing an objective outline for achieving both goals.

Goal Setting Plan

The Goals Grid is a simple, flexible tool that can be applied in several ways. According to Nickols and Ledgerwood (2006) is used to develop a refined set of strategic objectives relative to my values and priorities. The two goals that I am going to refine into objectives are:

1. Increased technology integration

2. Network with others working toward similar goals.
