Instructor respond on the article Different Types of War:
wonderful start! You have a nice overview of general types of wars and then I like how you are narrowing to the International Relations literature. Do you want to compare different types of wars? Or do you have questions about technology and war? A book you might benefit from is "War Made New" by Max Boot. Just fyi, the first organized wars (historians pretty much agree) happened in present day Iraq, or Sumer then, in 2700 BC. I usually talk about Sun Tzu a bit for the eastern view of war, too. For the check in this Friday try take a look at these sources and see where they lead, can you develop a research question about this topic unique to who you are and your interests?
What is an annotated bibliography?
See https://sites.umuc.edu/library/libhow/bibliography_tutorial.cfm (Links to an external site.)
I would prefer you complete an analytical or critical style annotated bibliography, but you may use a mixture of both types in your bibliography if that is more useful to you:
1. Descriptive or informative
2. Analytical or critical
Submit here your annotated bibliography you have so far and intend to use. Include your research question at the top and a minimum of 8 sources, 2 primary and 6 secondary. Your bibliography will be peer reviewed to help you, thinking about your ideas and content not to improve your edits so much at this stage of the work, but to give you different perspectives or additional ideas. Writing and projects are a process of learning. Check out what everyone is doing, too and learn from each others' sources and ideas (but of course, do not copy anything from anyone without proper attribution!)
