A general introduction – biography of Harold Pinter?

Working Analytical thesis: Harold Pinter’s “Homecoming,” and the breakdown of the modern family.

Thesis: Harold Pinter’s “Homecoming” questions the nature of values within a modern family. The play depicts a non-traditional change in women roles, language and non-verbal communication as a damaging factor to a family’s relationship.

Topic sentence one: Ruth’s strong female presence in Pinter’s “Homecoming” introduces a change in women’s roles within the modern family.

Topic sentence two: In addition, the play questions traditional views of language and communication are strong weapons in the play, which depict current differences and difficulties, asking the audience to reconsider the hierarchal relationship between speech and silence, present and absent and the role of each opposition in the struggle for power and dominance.
