RE: Discussion - Week 2

The Masters Science of Nursing has given me and will continue to allow me grasp an in-depth knowledge of clinical and nursing discipline and practice. With the valuable information that I have learned to this point and will continue to learn and grow professionally and academically. It is imperative that we as nurses grow within our profession to bridge the gap between registered nurses, patients, families and additional healthcare disciplines. The graduate nurse is educated on ways to extend and utilize scientific research to be applied in specific clinical areas to transform practice applications successfully. Interprofessional relationship are important to the healthcare team for success for all parties involved. When there is cohesiveness in the healthcare team it is reflected to the patients and families. By recognizing the importance of the patient and family partnership, an openness to explore alternative measures to provide excellence in human caring becomes evident (Caufield, 2020).

A common concern that I have in healthcare and will do my best as a future provider is the communication between disciplines, patients, and families. How will I integrate disciplines ideas and concerns in the patient’s level of care and potential outcomes? From my educational background how will I continue to build and enhance my knowledge with my patients cares? We learn a plethora of important information will I know when and how to use the learned knowledge?

According to Hicks & Patterson, “the success of health care professionals in delivering safe, effective, evidence-based, patient-centered care depends on the future of nursing (2017)”. The component is for nurses to train with a higher degree in education.
