Instructions for Decision Briefing Assignment

Your Commander and 1SG contacted you and directed you to organize an annual marketing plan for your area that will use innovation and creativity to reach a large population within your AO and generate leads and appointments. Because they want you to “think outside the box” you can plan as if you have unlimited funds, as long as the funds are spent only on marketing. They direct you to develop at least 2 COAs so they have multiple options to consider. You will present your COAs to the command team. The commander wants you to provide your criteria or rationale for your COA selection.

Include the following points in your marketing plan COAs:

1. Justification of your choices. 2. How will the plan reach your population better than the current marketing

plan? 3. How will you prove the impact to the population? 4. How will you prove leads and appointments generated? 5. Expected ROI of your COAs. (ROI justifies the effort, time, and/or money

spent on the plan)

Refer to ATP 3-07.6 and FM 6-0 to assist you in developing your COAs. When finished prepare a 10 minute (plus or minus 2 minutes) decision briefing (IAW FM 6-0) for you commander. Provide a slide presentation with your briefing covering the three main parts of the Decision Briefing.
