1. Read: the attached chapter from the text book, the attached article and web links provided below:

2. Misleading Pictures discussion: for EACH of the five pictures provided in the PDF

attached named ( 5 pictures for week 11 ) discuss the following two questions:

a) How it is misleading?

b) How it could be improved?

3. Discussion Post ( one page and a half ): Find some data that represents change over time for a topic of interest to you. • Present a line graph of the data. (Note: How you create your line graph is up to you.

For example it can be done by hand using graph paper or using a computer program like EXCEL).

• Be sure to use what you have learned in this week’s readings (i.e., Utts ch. 9 and those listed on this agenda) when creating your line graph.

• With your line graph include an explanation of what you have done to make sure the graph is as useful as possible (i.e., not misleading).

• Post your line graph AND explanation in one file.

4. Connecting Sources to chapter9 reading ( one page ): • Select an article from your source that is relevant to one of the topics discussed in

chapter 9 (attached). • Describe in your own words how the piece relates to one of the chapter 9 topics. • In addition critique the piece using what you have learned in chapter 9; address what

it did well and what it did not do well. • Post your description and a link to or a pdf of the article you used.
