Homework 2

Directions:

1. Read “Using Your ACT Results 2015-2016”

2. Closely examine the ACT report detailed in the “ACT Sample Student Report.” Assume

that you are responsible of helping this student, Anne Taylor, to interpret her

performance and it is your responsibility to write a letter to her explaining her test

performance. Let the following suggestions guide your letter:

• Anne will receive a copy of this test report.

• She is not a testing expert and will basically want to know how she

performed.

• Interpret the information about Anne’s performance, focusing on her

strengths and weaknesses.

In summary, I would like this letter to help the student both understand the different ways

scores are presented and what these scores are saying about her strength and weakness.

Note: As you are completing this homework keep in mind that the main purpose in

having your write this letter was to show me that you can accurately interpret the details

of the report and to show me that you can explain terms (e.g., norm referenced) discussed

in our readings in simple ways that someone with no knowledge of large scale testing

terminology could understand.
