Research (oral) Presentation:

Students are required to deliver (orally) a 20 minute presentation on a topic selected and assigned by the instructor. The presentation should be based on an in-depth research on the topic assigned (research paper).

The oral presentation should include a powerpoint presentation and it should contain the following elements: 1) Brief introduction; 2) Main research question(s) and the importance of the question(s); 3) Methods used to collect data to answer the question(s) (Literature review of the references that you used); 4) Research findings (body of the research); 5) Conclusions.

You are allowed to use mostly scholarly sources for your research (see paper instructions below) and a very limited number of internet sources, newspaper articles, etc.

Research Paper

(10 pages minimum excluding bibliography, Times new Roman 12, double interspace). Students must use at least 10 scholarly articles or books (minimum 3 monographs/edited volumes) published in peer reviewed journals or by major university presses. You are allowed to use mostly scholarly sources for your research. Try to limit internet sources, newspaper articles, etc. (reports from official organs, e.g. UN organisations, NGOs etc. are permitted). Citations are necessary in the form of footnotes, endnotes, or in-text citations (Chicago Style). A bibliography should also be included. (Please see attached Writing Projects Rubric).
