Team Challenge for Discussion:

You work and are going to school. As the semester progresses, you are having challenges managing your time.

In your Learning Space-You will have three distinct discussions-Brainstorming, Metaphors and Analogies, and Six Hats:

As a team, select a team member to start each section and to make an initial post (Different team member for each category).    Other team members then add to the discussion.

-Your first team post should be named BRAINSTORMING-5 Points. (Everyone can respond to the first person who posts as a way of keeping this a little organized) Following good brainstorming guidelines, throw out a few ideas, however wild and crazy, for how you might address the challenge. Everyone should weigh in at least twice, without evaluation or "killer phrases". Comment in your responses on what good ideas emerge.

-Name your second post METAPHORS and ANALOGIES-5 Points. State the problem in the case you want to solve. One of you will need to pick out another world. Use the list in the slides or make up one that is different from your challenge.  Continue through and make connections. Then apply how one or more connections could help solve your specific challenge.

-Someone starts a third team post labeled SIX HATS-5 Points.  Use each of the Six Hats to evaluate your top three ideas from the previous discussions Each team member picks a different colored hat and speaks to the challenge with that approach in mind -talk about the issue you chose from that perspective – leave the blue for last and all members think about what the blue hat stands for: what did we learn, what is the best way to approach this situation, etc.  At the end, you should have data to help in deciding which is the best option. Watch these two short videos to further understand the Six Hats technique:
