Instructions An important long-term benefit of an application-focused course such as this one is the creation of a flexible, easy to use and expandable FEA database or job aid. A job aid in this context suggests some source of information on FEA tools, techniques, features, benefits and shortcomings. For this project, you will create a job aid for a specific FEA tool of your choosing. It should also include references to examples, available resources, and related references. Such job aid would be useful for developing your course project 2, and for future use.

For this project, you will need to:

1. Review existing FEA tools to gain some general ideas on FEA tools;

2. Select an area or a specific FEA tool that is interesting and relevant for you to explore more deeply;

3. Identify additional references and one good example of an application of the tool presented in a journal article, text chapter, final report or some such;

4. Submit a copy of the tool documentation to include additional references and the application example.

Some examples of FEA tools are described in the Jonassen, Hannum, and Tessmer (1999) course text. Also, see the links below for other potential tool topics.

This project includes three (3) required deliverables. (1) project proposal. (2) project update, (3) final paper.

Deliverable 1: Project Proposal

Your proposal should include:

1. The tool you've selected;

2. Overview of the tool, including the background of the tool;

3. Purpose of the tool;

4. Reference list, using APA format, that includes at least 2 articles or resources on this tool;

Deliverable 2: Project Update

This cannot be the same paper submitted and there must be significant additional content. in addition to the content from the proposal, your project update should include

1. Any updates to the sections from the proposal;

2. Overview of the tool, including the background of the tool;

3. Reference list, using APA format, that includes articles or resources on this tool;

4. Additionally, identify at least one article that includes a case example of the tool;

Deliverable 3: Final Project Paper

The final paper for this project should include the components listed above and restated here:

1. Review existing FEA tools to gain some general ideas on FEA tools;

2. Select an area or a specific FEA tool that is interesting and relevant for you to explore more deeply;

3. Identify additional references and one good example of an application of the tool presented in a journal article, text chapter, final report or some such;

4. Submit a copy of the tool documentation to include additional references and the application example
