8 double spaced page assignment - Human Resources Management
Writing Specifics
As stated earlier, in the final report, your proposal is now Chapter 1. While the verb tense in the proposal is future (what you will do), the verb tense in Chapter 1 of the final report is past (indicating what you did). All references are included at the end of the written report, rather than at the end of Chapter 1. While a description of method or design is part of the proposal, it is generally not part of Chapter 1 of the final report; since that topic is covered in detail in Chapter 3.
Please note that for all statements other than the common sense (The sun is bright), you need to do one of the following three:
1. Cite a reference in the literature,
2. Show a process of your logic derivation from the literature, or
3. Show that it was from your data analysis.
In research report, we cannot make any random claims without support from literature or the data.
Please use active voice ("I did this" instead of "This was done"). Please use first-person styler such as "I oberved some interesting phenomenon..." instead of "This author observed..."
Looking ahead
Now that we have covered the text materials with additional lecture notes, please pace yourself for the remainder of the semester for your final writing. Resist the temptation to put things off until you feel like working on your project.
Please avoid last minute rush. Make sure that you allow for potential technical difficulties at the end of the semester. This means you need to plan ahead to finish early. Please keep track of the due dates for discussion board and the final paper. Always keep me informed of any questions, concerns, or difficulties you are having with your project. Also feel free to consult with your research peers and various appropriate professionals.
Additionally, I will also take earlier submission of your final papers before the due date because of the large amount of reading and final grade reporting deadlines. Please also note that I will not provide feedback to you on the final paper other than a grade. However, make sure your final paper has the following structure:
1. Introduction
2. Research purpose and/or questions
3. Significance of the study
4. Literature review
5. Method
6. Results
7. Discussion
8. Implications and conclusion- to address the "so what" question of your research.
I look forward to your final research paper, and good luck!

Section 2 Review of Related Literature: This is to use the literature to identify research gap and justify why your study is significant. Section 3 Method (also called Procedures or Design) Section 4 Findings, Summary, Conclusions, Recommendations for Further Study, including compare your findings to the exisiting literature. References Appendixes Note that this outline is an adaptation of a five-chapter report; and among full five-chapter reports there will be some variation in outline. I know some of you are doing an actual study with survey data. If that is the case, you may find the 5 section structure fit well. You can also see that this final report will include your first three assignments. Please integrate those into your final writing.
