PROJECT DESCRIPTION

You are working with Carlos Torres, the regional vice president in the Southwest office of Palmetto Event Solutions in Las Cruces. The Southwest office was recently contracted to coordinate events for the Southwest Culinary Association Convention to be held in San Antonio next year. You have been assigned exclusively to this project.

In this project, you create a letter from Mr. Torres to Mr. Romero, the president of the Southwest Culinary Association.

GETTING STARTED

Open the file CK20e_48-d3_ FirstLastName_1.docx , available for download from the SAM website.

Save the file as CK20e_48-d3_ FirstLastName_2.docx by changing the “1” to a “2”.

0. If you do not see the .docx file extension in the Save As dialog box, do not type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically.

PROJECT STEPS

In the blank paragraph below the letterhead, key January 15, 2018 as the date and then tap ENTER twice.

Key the inside address shown below, using SHIFT + ENTER to separate each line. Tap ENTER at the end of the last line.

Key the greeting line Dear Mr. Romero and then tap ENTER.

Using block letter style with open punctuation, key the letter text shown below. Refer to the Final Figure for formatting.

Key the following text as the closing, replacing “xx” with your initials for reference. Format the text as appropriate for block letter style with open punctuation. Include a single blank line for the signature, and use SHIFT + ENTER to separate the name from the position.

Use proofing tools, proofread, and correct all errors. Your document should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the document, and then exit Word. Follow the directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project.
