How to make a paper boat that floats
Introduction
• To make a boat from paper utilizes minimal and available materials.
• Only a piece of printer paper is required in this practical.
• It takes only a few minutes to shape the paper into a boat that can float in water.
Step 1
• Find a piece of paper
• Place it in front of you on a bench. Ensure the side that is shorter is at the top.
• From the top to the bottom, fold the paper like a hamburger; ensure you have folded the paper into a half.
Step 2
• Bend the paper from left to right
• Find the center of the paper and reopen
• Ensure the two corners are brought to the middle of the paper and a point and a pleat is formed.
Step 3
• Fold the flap at the bottom up and then turn the other side and fold the flap upwards.
• The flaps will have small triangle tabs out. Fold them to make a big triangle of the overall paper.

• The opening at the center pop it to make a hat.
• Push the two sides that are pointed to meet one another.
• Crease down to make a square.
Step 5
• Still the opening should be facing you, fold the layer on top to meet the point at the top.
• Turn the paper to the other side and do the same.
Step 6
• Pop open the center like a hat and make the outer sides meet one another.
• You will have a small square.
Step 7
• Take the top middle points and pull apart gently.
• Hold the boat against the floor for a few second to reinforce the corners.
• Release it and it is ready to float on water.
