The final research proposal should be 10 double spaced, typed pages. The title page, references, and appendices do not count toward the 10 pages. The paper should use one-inch margins, 12 point Times New Roman font, and be written according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). A minimum of seven references is to be used (minimum of five peer-reviewed journal articles based on original research, one book, and one agency or government website).

The research proposal must include the following:

·Abstract (one page)

·A clear statement of the problem and aim of the study. Include relevant data and relevance to social work practice and/or policy (one page)

·Literature review. End the section with the conceptual framework for the study (key constructs) and research questions or hypotheses (three to four pages)

·Proposed research methodology. Consider sampling, data collection, data analysis, sources of bias, ethical issues/informed consent (three to four pages)

·Plan for dissemination of results (one page)

·Appendices (two to four pages)

oConceptual frameworks/models

oInformed consent. Include benefits and risks to participants.

oInstruments/Surveys/Questionnaires/Interview Guides/Observation Checklists, as applicable. If you use a resource from the literature, cite it and explain the study it came from and how you will use it differently.
