https://ncela.ed.gov/ 2) On their home page, click on the link for "DEMOGRAPHICS & STATE DATA" at the top of the page. 3) Navigate to the STATE OF TEXAS information by clicking on "Title III State Profiles", and then the State of Texas in the map provided. 4) Once you are in the section that is designated for the State of Texas information, browse the website for information about language education and English language learners in Texas. Scroll to the bottom of the Texas information page, and click on each of the links at the bottom of the page also (Under "Texas State Page Links"). Then go back to the NCELA homepage and navigate to other sections of the website, and explore available information that is provided on this website that is both related to Texas and information related to ELL in general, the NCELA, federal policies, etc. 5) For your Topic 6 Assignment Post, list 5 things that you learn new, that you did not already know, relating to issues and information about language diversity and learning in Texas and/or the United States. All of the information that you list is to come from this one website, in the section on Texas or in other sections, so it is NOT necessary to use APA citations and references for THIS assignment, since I, the reader, will know the source of all of the information that you list. Number your Assignment Post #1-#5, and list the five things that you have learned. Triple space between each item. 6) DO NOT COPY ANY PHRASES OR SENTENCES FROM THE WEBSITE!!!! Do not use any direct quotations. Instead, read the information, learn it, (take notes on it), and then PUT IT INTO YOUR OWN WORDS as you describe each of the informational items that you have learned. Of course, do not plagiarize from your classmates' work, or other sources. NEVER copy or use information from a classmate's assignment. Your work is to be YOUR work only. 7) For each item that you list, use complete sentences, and describe what you have found.
Each of the five items that you list should be at least two full-length sentences in length, and I encourage you to write more than only two sentences.
You are sharing information to inform your readers (your classmates and me), so don't "skimp" on what you write ;) 8) After posting your Assignment Post, take some time and read several of your classmates' posts. By doing so, you will expand your learning beyond what you may have noted in your exploration of the website.
