Should the United States Continue Its Use of Drone Strikes Abroad?
After discussing it, our group came to the conclusion that the United States of America
should not continue its use of drone strikes abroad. We do acknowledge that in the means of
survival and notions of war it is an efficient weapon to protect our country. Although there is
more possibility that people abuse this weapon. If the United States of America does not
approve of other countries using this weapon on them, it would be hypocritical for them to use
it as well. With a weapon that has the ability to not only surveill but be able to kill violently. It
is also extremely expensive which makes this weapon more tangible. This makes this weapon
extremely susceptible to be abused and is also in danger of being an extreme human rights
violation. People in other countries fear for their lives if it might violate international law and
kill large numbers of civilians. The ability to control a device remotely and take lives weakens
our ability for human emotion. Drone strikes is making murder seem more like a video game
rather than taking of real life. Concluding for the reasons that the weapon is too accessible and
could be easily abused, possibility of violating human rights and international law, as well as
creating a disoriented sense of emotions through killing, the United States and other countries
should not use drone strikes.
