I. Introduction
A. Attention getter: Grab the audience’s attention
B. Brief background to topic: Give us some initial info on the topic so we can understand what you plan to discuss; this shouldn’t be long.
C. Audience Relevance: Why should your audience know this information? Why should they care?
D. Thesis: One sentence argument addressing the message of the speech. What should the audience know about your speech after the conclusion?
E. Preview of Main Points: One sentence saying what the 3 main points will consist of.
Transition to first main point: One sentence letting us know that you will move into your first main point, and what your first main point will consist of.
II. Main Point 1:

B. Sub point B
Transition to 2nd main point: One sentence letting us know what you just talked about (1st MP) and what you plan on discussing next (2nd MP).
III. Main Point 2:

Transition to 3rd main point: One sentence letting us know what you just talked about (2st MP) and what you plan on discussing next (3nd MP).
IV. Main Point 3:

V. Conclusion:
A. Restate thesis: One sentence argument summarizing the message of the speech and the takeaway for the audience.
B. Review main points: One sentence telling the audience what your main points were.
C. Memorable Closer: Leave them with something to think about. How will they remember your speech?
