Informative Speech Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to inform the audience about a research topic of your choice. The speech will be a prepared 6 – 8 minute extemporaneous speech. Not memorized but also not read. You can use either note cards or a brief speaking outline. You will upload a final delivery outline along with a works cited page (either APA or MLA) before class on Tuesday May 8th, 2018. A visual aid is required. Below is a list of specific criteria that will be evaluated during your speech. You will also upload a typed and double spaced outline of the entire speech before class on Tuesday May 1st, 2017 that includes 3/5 required sources.
· 6 – 8 minute extemporaneous informative speech with a 30-second grace period.
· Typed, proofread, double spaced, and organized DRAFT outline upload before class, 5/1/18.
· Typed, proofread, double-spaced, and organized FINAL outline upload before class 5/8/18.
· Reference page in APA or MLA format with a minimum of five (5) different sources.
· Clear and organized intro, body, conclusion and connectives.
· A minimum of five (5) different sources in the final version of the outline as well as verbally in the speech.
· Clear use of imagery and language.
· The rough draft body outline is worth 50 points.
· The speech is worth 100 points and the final outline is worth 50, for a total of 150 points.
