The career growth in the information technology management field is quite moderate. The information technology management growth is said to be about 3% and this career growth rate is expected to go on for about eight years from now, that is probably up to the year 2024. The intakes in every year are not as large as it would be expected in other careers as the information technology management field requires a lot of specialization ad skillfulness that as well takes time to be mastered (Anton, Silberglitt, & Schneider, 2012). Additionally, given the complexity and the nature of the information technology management field, the information technology personnel are required to have at least a minimum qualification of a degree in the same field. However, due to the diversity and level of complexity of the respective personnel areas of operations, some information technology management personnel have higher degrees in information technology management while others have diplomas. Some of the information that is a must-have for the information technology management personnel includes the following;
Computer and electronics- the fact that the information technology will be managing information then they are required to understand the hardware of the information technology which includes, the processors, chips, circuits and equipment. Generally, be informed of the computer hardware, software and programming as well.

Five Year Career Plan
Given the requirements in these fields and the relevant skills, I plan to take a degree course in information technology and engineering classes. This way I will be equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge regarding the information technology management field as highlighted above. More so, I believe that the information technology and engineering classes will help in sharpening my skills, in critical thinking, active listening, comprehension, decision making, coordinating and monitoring. These are some of the basic skills that are a must-have in the information technology management, and some can be in building while others are learnt in class. Therefore, as I undertake the degree class which is going to run for four years I am sure I will be competent in the information technology management field and most likely after the course completion, I will manage to secure a good job which can be preceded by an internship of about six to twelve months.
