Instructions: Save this form on your computer. Write/ fill in at least 3-5 sentences for each part below. Please write in complete sentences. Then, copy and paste the entire filled in sheet into the discussion, on the thread itself.

Part 1: Give a general introduction to the problem, including the thesis statement. The thesis statement should present a clearly defined position on a debatable topic.

[The US education system has been praised by many people due to many reasons. However, on the outside, the arguments are true. But on the inside the system is a mess. The education system puts more emphasis on teacher instructions than what really matters for the student’s needs. This essay aims at evaluating whether the education system in the country is overrated]

Part 2: Present the history of the problem, including, perhaps, past attempts at a solution.

The existing education-system in US was established by colonists in 1635 and later taken over by the Federal government in the year 1867. The main purpose of the system was to ensure accessibility to education by all throughout the country. Research shows that attempts to change the system have had little effect on the same. This resulted in some changes like the homeschool and other positive changes.

Part 3: Discuss the extent of the problem. Who is affected by it? How bad is it?

The System has greatly affected the students and the society at large. The system has an inflexible structure which hampers the creativity of students and trains them to meet only the industrial needs of the country. Snaza, (2016) argues that by punishing students whenever they are wrong discourages them from trying new things in life and therefore hinder their innovation. This system is a very bad one for the country.

Part 4: Indicate what will happen if the problem is not solved.

Failure to effect changes in the system will lead to poverty. Cox, (2018) argues that the system through its unequal resource distribution and creativity hinderance will result in inequality which will lead to a poverty cycle. This calls for immediate attention and research in ways through which the problem should be solved.

Part 5: Connect the argument with facts that prove your points. Note the areas of objections and offer concessions if needed.

The current schools’ emphasize on the old syllabus which has no ability to address the current societal challenges. Knowledge is easily accessed through internet and thus learning should not base on knowledge alone but how the students can live in the society, solve the current challenges in life and earn a living (Varenne, 2018). These arguments in support of Cox, (2018), agree that continues use of the system will lead the country into cycles of poverty.

Part 6: Provide a conclusion, including a restatement of the thesis and summary of the main ideas.

The evaluation of the current education system in the country reveals a lot. Research has shown that the system through traditional syllabus is grooming poverty in the society. This argument has been supported by other researchers’ argument that the system has ignored creativity and the current education needs for students to deal with current world challenges.
