EXCEL project. **instructions attached below**
Individual Project
You can choose one of the following topics for an individual project during this semester.
· Budgeting and forecasting your personal finances out ten years (examples: paying off student loans, saving up for your first home and mortgage amortization, income and growth (based on raises/promotions), monthly budget, 401k, etc.)
· Detailed analysis on one company and projecting what their Net Income and financial position will be over the next 5 years (this includes all items on the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows).
Your project must be completed in Microsoft Excel. You must also include a write-up of your findings, key assumptions or other aspects of your analysis. At a minimum (this means a passing grade of a C if you have all of these components), you will need to include:
· 3 unique tabs with data/analysis
· 1 summary tab with your high-level results
· 10 different formulas (calculations, sum, min, max, etc.)
· 2 charts
· Forecasting or amortization schedules (can be daily or monthly. Yearly is too high-level.)
· 2 different interest rates
· Formatting that is visually appealing and easy to read
Additional features you could include to achieve a higher grade (if it makes sense for your project):
· Pivot tables (and formulas within your pivot table)
· References to other workbooks, data, webpages
· Conditional Formatting
· Use of Solver
· Drop Down lists
· Regression
· Monte Carlo Simulation
· VBA
· Any other advanced items we cover in class
