OBJECTIVE
The objective of this assignment is to introduce you to academic writing (ASA or APA) and to help you to make a clear and logical presentation. The assignment will test your ability to:
· Analyze a specific sociological topic in the course material;
· Write up your findings in academic format (APA or ASA);
· Find and include academic references (APA of ASA format) in your written work, and
· Group presentation.

INSTRUCTIONS
TASK # 1
Group members pick a topic of interest within the assigned chapter. Group members are not allowed to pick the same topic.
TASK # 2
Use the textbook material to learn more about the topic that you have selected (your own point of interest)
TASK # 3
Use the textbook material and THREE additional sources to write a paper of 2 pages (1000 words) in which you present the topic that you have selected
TASK # 4
Make use of APA or ASA to reference and include the THREE additional sources in your paper. The complete paper needs to be 2 pages (1000 words). * Note: Each individual group member is responsible to write their own paper and hand in their own paper.
TASK # 5
The group is responsible for a group presentation of fifteen minutes on the assigned PRESENTATION date
TASK # 6
Create a reference page (ASA or APA format) which reflects all the materials that you have used for both the paper and the presentation. The reference page is a separate page that you need to attach at the back of your written paper. * Note: Each individual group member is responsible for their own reference page.

A zero will be recorded for this assignment and an additional five percent will be deducted from your final grade if you are absent on the date assigned to your group; you fail to hand in the written paper on the assigned date; you fail to complete both the presentation and the paper
