Assignment 3: Creating a project in InDesign “Never judge a book by its cover; a movie by its book; or a video game by its movie.” –Ashwin Sanghi Contrary to the quote above, we do judge a lot by “it’s cover.” Take a look at the American Society of Magazine Editors Top 40 Magazine covers of all time. Many highlight the form of the human body, violence, parody, and various types of iconoclasm. CD cover art is similarly strongly themed. Take a look at these CD covers below.

Other genres that can be done in InDesign are creating infographics, brochures, and book covers. For this assignment, drawing on some of the lessons we learned in this unit, you have the choice of creating one of the following: a flyer for a business or organization, an infographic, a magazine/book cover, or a CD cover. You can even go further and create a mini magazine or eBook (don’t feel you have to have a full magazine or book. A couple of pages will suffice for 100% credit.) The original files should be submitted with the final InDesign project. You should also include a 1-2 page reflection that outlines your process, discusses what you found easy or struggled with, and how you might continue to improve upon this image or similar projects in the future.
