Incorporating the Core Value of Community in Business

If I were to open a new business, it would be a recreation center. I have always dreamed of making a positive change in my community. This is all about making a change in a manner that promotes group connection and a sense of belonging. I believe I will make my dream come true by starting a community recreation center. The social bonds that individuals create at a recreation center have several benefits – they improve lives and help build safe, inclusive, and safe communities. Some of the recreational facilities that I am considering offering include spas, steam baths, saunas, swimming pools, playgrounds, tennis courts, etc. The goal is to give my community a place to have fun, take part in different activities, and improve the community, both economically and socially.

To ensure success, I would incorporate the core value of community into my new business. According to Heathfield (2021), a core value is a quality or trait that represents an organization’s or an individual’s highest priorities, core driving forces, and deeply held beliefs. It is the heart of what a business and its workers support or represent. At the new recreational center, we will foster a sense of belonging and interdependence. I want every member to feel included and welcomed. Being “included” implies that everyone is able to participate in the same activities, same facilities, and enjoy life in a manner that is meaningful and enjoyable to them (Iturriaga, 2020). Being “welcomed” means that everyone feels comfortable, accepted, and important when they arrive at the recreational center.
