In class assignment 11/3/2022 Draft a public records request Think of some records you might want access to as a journalist or interested citizen. Where would you find these records? (i.e. under what agency are they housed, such as, the Pentagon, the FBI, the National Park Service, the Office of the Mayor of Denver, the Office of the Governor of Colorado, local police department, the Secretary of State’s office, etc.). What records do you want (be specific! I am seeking access to all emails sent and received by Secretary of State Jena Griswold between November 8, 2022 to November 9, 2022) On Thursday, Nov. 3, please come to class with a draft of your public records request for class discussion. Be prepared to answer the following questions:

1) What is the public agency that you intend to request the records from? 2) What records you are requesting? 3) Why you’re seeking access to these records?

Please use the template in Canvas to help draft your request. (Note: if you want to request records from a federal agency, you will not include the CORA specific language in the request.) This assignment is due in class on Thursday, Nov. 3.
