Summary and Robust Casual Loop Diagram
Summary and Robust Casual Loop Diagram: Bayonne Packaging, Inc.
System diagramming technique is useful tool that can be used to analyze organizational issues, methods, and measures to achieve desired outcomes.
Poor quality products
Missed sale targets
Alternative interventions
Figure 1: System diagram
The main issues with the company production and sales department is how to streamline production process and boost sales by implementing respective strategies. Thus, as illustrated in the above diagram, the company needs to consider options for achieving sales and production goals.
Also, as illustrated in the root cause analysis tree diagram below, the key highlights of 5 Why demonstrate how issues affecting the variables, product quality and sales volumes may be solved.
Figure 2: Root cause (RC) analysis tree diagram
The casual loop diagram below is a follow-up of the previous root cause analysis diagram that will be used to implement the suggested strategies.
Upgrade production equipment/technique
Reform the sales team
Increased production capacity to meet demand and low Think new marketing technologies to lower the cost of marketing

Summary
Before any company is started, it is good to understand different challenges that acts as barriers towards achievement of the set goals in the target market because, “A company that solidly occupies a premium market position remains insulated longer than its competitors against evolution in the external environment.” (Olson, van Bever & Verry, 2020, pp. 4)
System diagram approach is used to fully understand the wide picture of the unmet goals as it involves interventions that leads to attainment of goals. When the company has low productivity, the customers cannot be fully satisfied due to inadequate deliverance of their orders. Firms have adopted the use of shifts, but they are not cost effective.
According to the idea obtained from the system diagram, it has been noted that there is some process that firms undertake but it fails to meet the desired goals. In case of any deviations, the management need to be alert so that they adopt different loop that works effectively in solving the problem. This is possible because of the presence of an evaluation section in the system loop which oversee each intervention before it is implemented as the company policies.
After realizing any problem in the company, there is an urge of doing root cause analysis in order to understand the possible questions related to the issue by the use of five why approach in a five-step approach phenomenon. When there are many problems, another step of fifth elements is undertaken. Similarly, a solution can be drawn by the use of a second why, which is followed by a correction step meant to solve the problem.
The company under study experienced an issue of quality, high campaigns associated with sales department and low production of products. Therefore, the company applied 5-why analysis to solve the issue of low quality products basing on the fact that some products such as glue was missing which led to a 6% of all the products being defective (Shapiro & Morrison, 2012). This was solved by changing machine in use as well as employing experts who are qualified for the process, thus benefiting the company positively.
Lack of optimal design in the production line is another challenge experienced in the company. This issue has led to high cost of production; therefore, it was considered good to correct the problem by redesigning the entire production line to obtain the better efficiency Sometimes there was release of excess items from the production unit which was considered to be of no importance to the company. Due to this, the company experiences the barriers to communication between their sales team and the factory itself. Regular meetings between sales team and production department ought to be conducted so as to curb communication problems.
A strategy has to be developed in the implementation phase after root cause analysis of the identified issue. Robust causal loop diagram is applied while implementing the recommendation that show clear links that gives direction on the management field and a strategy to be used. Resources are allocated in line with the changes done on production line. This increases production which will drive quality department to come up with new strategies in line with it. This allows the company to have high quality products as well as low cost campaigns.
As outlined in the system diagraming above, it suffices to conclude that the need to interpret and implement the recommendations in the analysis is necessary to achieve better business outcomes. Accordingly, the visual representation of the issues affecting the company provides for the framework that managers and employees can utilize to achieve specific organizational goals.
