The outcome I have selected for this discussion is “demonstrate collaboration and perspective sharing among stakeholders to reach consensus on the desired state of the system.” Collaboration and perspective sharing among members is so important in management. When individuals work together and share perspectives openly, goals and processes become more aligned, thus, leading the members towards greater success.

The first passage from The Goal that I find compelling relates to leadership. Based on the readings, Bill asked Alex whether he believed Hilton had a sound point concerning the future of his business in relation to the present patterns (Goldratt & Cox, 2014). In this case, Bill represents a leader who can see the viewpoint of everyone involved and the effects of their actions and decisions. This passage is vital and relevant to business management as it brings out the concept of effective leadership. Being able to see and assess the viewpoint of every member within an organization is important as it can lead to greater decision making which can translate into greater results and outcome.

The other passage from the readings that I find convincing relates to work procedures. According to the readings, it is important to balance demand with capacity first then try to manage and control the flow (Goldratt & Cox, 2014). This passage is vital in business management. It indicates the importance of having functional work processes and systems. Without a suitable balancing between capacity and demand, there will be no supply chain and system manufacturing optimization. This might translate into poor performance. For organizations to ensure a balance between demand capacity, they must ensure a maximum and optimum utilization of capacity. This means, ensuring that every resource is being utilized productively and effectively to deliver the expected quality.

Another passage from the readings that I found compelling relates to competition. According to Goldratt & Cox (2014), the company is producing outdated products compared to what the competitors are offering. This passage is vital in business management. Producing outdated products is dangerous in the market. A company cannot compete favorably in the market with outdated products. Consumers will also choose the competition over the company. As we all know, consumer needs and preferences change every day as the world changes. They, therefore, demand up-to-date products to meet their desires and demand. It is important for organizations to, thus, be updated in their production for them to succeed and stand out in the market. Producing up-to-date products will result in more sales. More sales will lead to more revenues and more profit.
