Dear Class, Since this project is a little different from most weekly assignments, I wanted to ensure that you completely understand it. There are two parts to this assignment, a presentation, and a written portion. I will be posting a template for both portions in the Announcement section. Complete the presentation first. Be sure to include all required slides. Do not overload your slides with too much text or graphics, but don’t omit information either. Balance the information between the slides and the speaker notes area. Once your presentation is complete, then, using the speaker notes and slide information, create the speech your will use in your presentation. This will then become your written portion of the project, or your transcript for Part 2. I should be able to follow along during your presentation, Part 1, by reading your written portion, Part 2. Remember, you are presenting this to your community leaders and parents. It is an overview of what the audience will encounter as they travel through the three stations prepared for the event. You are attempting to secure their positive votes for the grant referendum in the next election. Therefore, you want to ‘sell’ the UDL approach. Here is a step-by-step procedure: 1. Create your PowerPoint. Use the slide and speaker note area for your information. 2. Write your script for the presentation. Include exactly what you will say for each slide. Include information on the slide and speaker note area. Do not just read your slide. 3. Create your audio portion. This can be adding audio to your PowerPoint, or by creating a video posted to YouTube, or by creating the presentation on Screencast or some other link. 4. Submit your PowerPoint, ppt or pptx file, so I can view the slides and speaker note area for grading. 5. Submit your written synopsis --- transcript --- for the presentation as a Word doc or docx file. Include the link to your presentation if you posted it on YouTube, Screencast, or some other site. This should be listed on your title page. If you just added the audio portion to the PowerPoint, add the name of the PowerPoint in place of the link. Be sure that the link is not to a file on your computer, which cannot be opened by me. Be sure to upload the written portion, which should contain the link to your presentation, and the PowerPoint file. If you include audio in your PowerPoint, then you can eliminate the link to the presentation. Just indicate the title of your PowerPoint file. If you have any additional questions, please let me know. I look forward to seeing your finished products.
